Gene and Joanne Wilhelm Hog Island Scholarship for Teens

A one week student scholarship is available for qualifying teens living in Butler, Lawrence, Mercer or Venango counties to attend the Hog Island Audubon Camp in Bremen, Maine. It is offered to students ages 14-17 who have an avid interest in the nature and ecology of the seacoast. The award covers the cost of attendance at the “Coastal Maine Bird Studies for Teens” session, which allows young students to work with well-known birders and ornithologists on field identification, bird ecology and conservation. Participants must arrange and pay the costs of transportation to and from the Audubon dock in Bremen at the start and end of the session.

Interested teens and parents can learn more about the camp and program experiences at: http://hogisland.audubon.org/hog-island-programs
